April is bowel cancer awareness month.
St Mark's Hospital in North West London is one of the world's only specialist hospitals for colorectal diseases. Every year, patients with very little hope for
a successful outcome are referred to St Mark's where they receive the benefit
of years of pioneering research and the most effective treatment currently available.
No other hospital can claim to have done so much to spearhead the fight against diseases of the bowel such as Colitis, Crohn's and Bowel Cancer.
Only part of the work of St Mark's is supported from public funds and the
St Mark?s Foundation faces a continual challenge to raise funds from donations
to help the hospital continue its work.
The Mosaic Appeal was launched in April 2007 with the aim of raising over
half a million pounds by selling tiles in a virtual copy of a large lion mosaic
that is on the wall of the St Mark's building in Harrow.
Please buy a tile. There can be very few causes where your contribution
can have such a profound effect on so many people.
